Shrek the Musical – Don’t Miss It!

Shrek – the movie was great, sure. Michael Myers did a pretty cool Scottish brogue as Shrek, Eddie Murphy’s Donkey was hilarious, especially the bray laugh, and Cameron Diaz was lovely, even animated. Believe it or not, Dahlonega’s Holly Theater rendition of Shrek the Musical is just as good or better and the brilliance of excellent directing, fine acting, wonderful music and a remarkable – and enormous -- ensemble cast makes this a performance not to be missed.

Aye Lads and Lassies!

You don’t have to know how to pronounce an Irish ceili to enjoy one. (Pronounced “kay-lee”, by the way).

Although it’s typically defined as a dance -- or slightly broader as a party -- in Dahlonega, the ceili at Canvas & Cork, which takes place on the second Saturday each month, is a gathering of talented musicians, set within a delightful wine tasting room and art gallery. It’s the perfect mix of art, wine, good humor and traditional, enthusiastic Celtic music.
