Not quite. Actually Dahlonega’s very first (and presumably annual) First Night celebration will take place this year on the last night before the first day of the New Year. First Nights around the country have always been called that so we’ll have to go with it.

A Very Special Interview – Meet the Dahlonega Elf!

Okay, our first – and most important -- question ... Do you believe in Santa Claus?

Do I believe? Of course I believe. I sit right next to him on the sleigh each Christmas Eve. Plus he signs my paycheck!

What’s it like to ride on a sleigh drawn by all those reindeer?

It’s exhilarating – a great power takeoff – it’s like being launched by a rocket, then the ride settles down and it’s incredibly smooth. The reindeer tend to pull a bit to the right, but that’s just so we can get around the whole world dropping off presents for good little girls and boys well before sunrise.

Santa Has Arrived in Dahlonega!

Dress up the children and bring your camera, parents! Santa will be in Downtown Dahlonega every weekend through December 20th. Set against the backdrop of Dahlonega’s incredible, beautifully decorated 30-foot Christmas tree, you will be able to capture precious moments with Santa, Mrs. Claus, and one of Santa’s trusty elves!
