As our neighbors to the north still contend with snow and cold, we in Lumpkin County turn our attention to getting outdoors. The warmer weather brings not only a sigh of relief from the months of wearing extra layers of clothing, but also a variety of activities which brings people together.
Christmas, and the entire holiday season, in Dahlonega and Lumpkin County is magical, and national media is noticing. A recent article in Southern Living Magazine – the same Southern Living that called Dahlonega the “Napa of the South” for its burgeoning wine industry, including wineries, wine tasting rooms, and a new Zac Brown-branded distillery – recommended Dahlonega as a Christmas destination not to be missed.
