5 Things You Didn't Know About the Dahlonega Firecracker 5K

Planning on running the July 4th 5K in Dahlonega? Not yet convinced? Either way, these unexpected Firecracker 5K facts will get you ready to run on the big day!

1. There Will Be Fruit at the Finish Line

You read that right! There will be bananas and oranges galore at the end of the race. If that doesn't make you excited to put on your running shoes and go for a jog, then we don't know what will!

2. There's a 1 Kilometer Kids Fun Run

Why hire a baby sitter when you can just bring the kids? Family Fun Time---more like Family RUN Time! You're never too young for some good cardio

3. You Get a T-Shirt With Your Registration

We're not saying you should just do it for the t-shirt, but it sure does make it appealing doesn't it? Besides, this way all of your friends can know that while they were sleeping in on the Fourth, you were out running!

4. It's a Stroller Friendly Trail

Kids too small for the Fun Run, but still looking for that Family Run Time? You can still bring them along! Just up the ante and push them in a stroller for an extra workout.

5. You Can Bring Your Fur Babies

Don't have human babies and still want the extra workout of #4? No problem! Pop your fur baby in a stroller and we'll see you at the finish line! If your furry child is more athletic, then let them run with you! The entire course is pet friendly; just be sure to use a leash.
