Start Your Day with Santa's Dahlonega Dash 5k!

Getting ready for the fun and festivities of the Holiday season? Come enjoy one of your beautiful December mornings in Dahlonega, where we will be presenting the inaugural Santa’s Dahlonega Dash 5K race.

Santa’s Dahlonega Dash, is being presented by the Sigma Chi Fraternity at the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega. The 5K will take place around University of North Georgia’s Gen. William "Lipp" Livsey Drill Field at 9am with day of registration beginning at 8am.All of their proceeds will be given to Lumpkin County Family Connections in an attempt to provide less fortunate families of Dahlonega with a more enjoyable and comfortable Christmas season.

Every runner will be provided with a Santa hat and beard in order to enhance their Christmas spirit, while running through the festively decorated streets of Dahlonega. After the run stick around to enjoy Dahlonega’s Old Fashioned Christmas festivities including the Christmas parade, visiting Santa on the square and last but certainly not least, lighting of the tree in downtown.


Santa’s Dahlonega Dash has many perks and amenities that runners of all ages can enjoy. Runners 10 and under run for free, as long as they have guardian with them at registration. If you are a highly competitive runner, you can use Santa’s Dahlonega Dash as one of your qualifying races for the Peachtree Road Race.

Most importantly, Santa’s Dahlonega Dash will be the perfect mix between exercise and fun, allowing runners to take in all of the tremendous Christmas experiences offered by Dahlonega, while also showing their own Christmas spirit.

Check in will open at 8:00am and the race will start at 9:00am. Entry fee to run in the race is $30 for runners over 10 years old. Every runner will be provided free of charge a Santa Hat and Beard, and the race shirt is paid for in your entry fee.

    Is this date correct...Dec 4th? I've checked several other website listings for this event and the date is shown as Dec 10th. No one I've called seems to know. Since I'm traveling to Dahlonega to take part, I'd really like to make sure the date is correct. Thanks.
