Are you seeking the perfect place to feast on your favorite Thanksgiving dishes without the hassle of cooking them yourself? Forrest Hills Mountain Resort will be serving all of the traditional favorites in their beautiful Rose Garden Dining Room. Feast on roast turkey with giblet gravy, shrimp and grits, glazed pit ham, sweet potato soufflé, and so much more! View their full menu here.

If you still plan on cooking for the big day, you can still stop by the Farmers Market on Tuesday, November 22 from 2 - 6 PM to pick up fresh and local food for your meal. Farmers will have jams, jellies, baked goods, eggs, collards, turnips, sweet potatoes, pumpkins, pomegranates, syrups, dressings, and much more! Details about the event can be found here.

Stop by Montaluce Winery and Restaurant for their Thanksgiving Day celebration, complete with a four course menu. Let Montaluce do all the cooking so you have the opportunity to spend more time with your loved ones and relax.

Want to try something new this Thanksgiving? Dahlonega’s newest walking tour, Savoring the Square Food Tour, offers a unique opportunity to experience both the food and culture of North Georgia. This tour will captivate you with visits to our finest restaurants and tasting rooms.

If you have several dinners to attend on Thanksgiving Day but would still love to break away from the chaos, there are opportunities to explore downtown Dahlonega the day of and weekend afterwards! The North Georgia Zoo & Petting Farm will be hosting a holiday celebration and live nativity on Friday, November 25. Bring your flashlight and join their guides as they take you on a walk through the zoo under the stars.

End the night with a stroll through downtown Dahlonega to admire the beautiful autumn colors and stop in to listen to live music at Bourbon Street Grille or Spirits Tavern.

Also kicking off the day after Thanksgiving is Dahlonega’s Old Fashioned Christmas. Old Fashioned Christmas is a month-long celebration from November 25 through December 31, 2016, set in motion with the lighting of the square. Plenty of other festive holiday events continue almost daily throughout December until after New Year's with caroling, entertainment, wine sampling, and live theater Christmas events. We hope you have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving and we look forward to seeing you in downtown Dahlonega throughout the holiday season!
