Hallmark recently filmed its movie “Christmas in Homestead” on the Dahlonega Square. And when you visit, it’s easy to see why!
Old-time charm is alive and well in Dahlonega. It all starts with the buildings, including our historic courthouse in the middle of the square, which were built in the early and mid-1880s.
Inside these historic buildings, you’ll find locally owned eateries, chocolate shops, antique boutiques, an old-time toy store, Dahlonega General Store, and a historic theatre and lots more.
It’s Pure Gold
America’s first gold rush happened in Dahlonega, and gold is still a major draw here for kids and adults alike. Visit the Consolidated Gold Mines right in town, pan for gold in the Chestatee River, and check out the Gold Museum located in our historic courthouse. You never know – there might be a nugget with your name on it!
