There’s a great new way to discover Dahlonega, get a taste of some wonderful local restaurants, learn the history of this gold mining region, meet new people and perhaps even sample a few of North Georgia wines.
"Savoring the Square" is Dahlonega's newest walking tour, offering a unique opportunity to experience both the food and culture of Dahlonega and North Georgia. You will be captivated with visits to our finest restaurants and tasting rooms, each with its own unique flavor and history. You’ll enjoy the sites and tastes of North Georgia's most scenic town as you explore the nooks and crannies of this famous and nationally registered Dahlonega Square. The tour includes five to seven stops to culinary heaven, as well as visits to local artists, historical landmarks, century-old architecture and local music venues.
The tour covers just under a mile and begins at 19 East Main Street on the upstairs porch. The tour is approximately three hours, and comfortable shoes and clothing are recommended. Adults should be sure to bring I.D. for stops where alcohol may be offered.
*Tour organizers reserve the option of cancelling tours if a minimum of six customers are not pre-booked two hours before the beginning of a tour.
