North Georgia’s Jason Kenney (HomeGrown Revival/The Kenney-Blackmon String Band) is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter who has been playing music professionally for eight years. He has put out three full length albums and collaborated on many others including Corey Smith's "In The Mood" and "The Good Life". For his latest project, he teamed up with the legendary fiddler, David Blackmon who has been in bands like Widespread Panic, Blueground Undergrass, and Jerry Reed. In March of 2012, they released their first album as The Kenney-Blackmon String Band entitled "The Singing Tree" which was recorded and produced by John Keane (R.E.M., Indigo Girls, Widespread Panic, Taj Mahal). Jason has shared the stage with many wonderful artists including Jonathan Byrd, Amy Ray (Indigo Girls), The Carolina Chocolate Drops, John Keane, The Dappled Grays, Kevin Kinney, Darrell Scott, Jeff Mosier, and The Atlanta Ballet. When Jason isn't touring, playing at nursing homes, or playing with his kids, he teaches private music lessons and is involved with the Georgia Pick and Bow Traditional Music School which brings Appalachian music to the public schools.
