Gold Rush Days 2012

Dahlonega’s historic public square will come alive for the 55th-annual Gold Rush Days Festival.  This two-day event, which celebrates the 1828 discovery of gold in Georgia’s “Golden City,” will feature live musical performances, more than 300 arts and crafts exhibits, children’s activities, delicious food, and a festive parade through downtown.  This fun, fall event is a great opportunity to experience Dahlonega’s amazing foliage, while enjoying an art-filled festival. It has been voted one of the Top 20 Events in the Southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society and was featured on Good Day Atlanta this week.

Events will include – but are not limited to – coronation of the King and Queen, arm wrestling, clogging, hog calling, buck dancing competition, K.I.S.S. club performance, cross cut saw competition, old-fashioned day fashion show, and a treasure hunt and games for the kids.
