Black Mountain Forest Blueberry Farm

pickyourownblueberriesBlack Mountain Forest Farm is just North of Dahlonega, Georgia in Lumpkin County. They are in the foothills of the beautiful North Georgia mountains. Bring out the family and pick fresh blueberries from more than 200 bushes. Blueberry season is typically from June 15th through August 1st. Contact the Farm or check their website to confirm availability and farm hours. Hayrides may be available for groups or families with prior notice.

Black Mountain Forst Blueberry Farm also offers local honey from their own hives. Pure Spring honey is typically available around June 15th, and Sourwood honey is typically available around August 1st. Honey is available during u-pick hours and by appointment. Quantities are limited so shop early!

Hillcrest Orchards

Take a great fall day trip to Hillcrest Orchards only 1 1/2 hours from downtown Atlanta, Georgia or Chattanooga, Tennessee. Hillcrest is family owned and operated and offers loads of fun for kids, adults and seniors. Pick your fun at the annual "Apple Pickin' Jubilee" where you can pick your own apples, milk a cow, watch live pig races, visit the petting farm, take a wagon ride through the orchard, visit the Moonshine Museum and watch live bands and cloggers on the Hillcrest Stage. Visit their playground and ride the giant slide down the mountain.

Come hungry because there's more food than you can hold. Visit the bakery and ice cream parlor for homemade fried apple pies, apple cider doughnuts, apple fritters, homemade ice cream and fudge. Wash it all down with some fresh cold apple cider. They'll have the grill fired up outside in the festival area for hamburgers, hotdogs and barbecue along with Billy Bob's famous boiled peanuts, turkey legs and roasted corn.
