Together it will be an electric and eclectic combination of family favorites and innovative musical mixes.

The concert is free – all you have to do is bring a blanket or a chair and find a good viewing spot. Food is also optional – but that’s easy. More than 15 downtown restaurants are a short walk away – most of which can offer meals or snacks to go. Or you can shop locally for a picnic dinner and lay out a spread on the lush Hancock Park lawn.

The concert begins at 6:30 pm and usually lasts about two hours, but concert-goers are encouraged to get there early for a good viewing spot, especially if you’re with a sizable group. Next month’s featured performers – on Friday, June 3 – will be the Chestatee River Ceili Band playing traditional Irish tunes. In July, attendees get a two-fer – two bands in one concert – when the Fool’s Gold Band and Ugly Cousin combine for a night of entertainment. August 5 features the Kurt Thomas Band; on September 2, it will be Radford Windham and Step Back Cadillac, and the season wraps up on October 7 with Rick Harris and Friends.
